Surprise!!

Well, it looks like we are having a girl.  That tricky umbilical cord decided to stop masquerading as a penis.  We're just excited to be having a healthy baby.

Can spring be sprung already?!

March is such a difficult month.  Not only do I lose an hour of sleep but the weather will not just behave.  My poor friend in Ohio is being slammed by snow!  She doesn't deserve that after so patiently waiting for spring.  In Utah the weather is currently delightful...I know that will not be the case later this week.  The only thing that keeps me going is the promise of sun and fun in 11 days!  We are going to visit family in Arizona for Easter.  Wahoo!

An update on Babywatch 2008:  We went to a 3D ultrasound place to get non-scary pictures of Baby F.  Also, our first technician was only, "75-85% sure it's  boy."  I'm not the type of person who can live with odds like those, so we were anxious to get confirmation on the gender.  Baby F, however, had other plans. Like a modest little lad/lass the ankles stayed crossed and the umbilical cord was nestled in between the legs.

Then, when we tried to get a picture of the face, the little bugger decided to rollover and face my spine!!!  Fifteen minutes of pounding on my stomach could not provoke a change in position.  So we left disappointed that a child of ours would not want to show itself off to the world.  Never fear, we are going back on Friday and will hopefully have a more cooperative baby.

Snip Snip

I changed my mind about that last post. Not that I didn't mean every word I said, I guess i'm just not that comfortable sharing my feelings about racism that impacts me personally on public domain.

Usually I'm the first person to say that deleting a post is a big blogging no-no. Life isn't all rainbows and puppies and people should understand that.

D.I.N.K's!!

That's right, for the next four months we will be double income no kid family! Aaron will be working at a local treatment facility helping teenage boys in school and during their therapy groups. Exciting stuff.

I'd also like to take the time to remind those of you who have yet to vote in a primary to do so. We waited ninty minutes to vote and were very excited to watch all the returns on Super Tuesday. Aaron has never been a very political person, but this campaign season has really grabbed a hold of him and it's exciting to watch. Because we are both registered independents the woman at the check-in had to ask if we were voting Republican. When we told her no, she scrunched up her nose and walked away! Then the people behind us started saying how there was only one republican worth voting for out of all the candidates. Amusing. I really didn't make up my mind on who to vote for until I walked into the booth, but in the end I'm very happy with my choice.

Thanks Heaven for Little Boys

Yes, we have seen the heir to our kingdom and he has a beautiful spine.  Everything looked like it was developing properly.  My due date was moved up....again.  At the end of the month we will be going in for another ultrasound and will hopefully have better pictures to post.  We have one of his face but his hand is over it so he looks kind of like Voldemort.

Update

So much for being a model blogger. I had a two week break from working my night job so I took advantage of the extra sleep time. The holidays were nice and, for the most part, quiet. We watched an inordinate amount of movies. I think my favorite was Stardust. If you haven't seen it run to the Red Box!

Aaron is still on the job hunt. We're pretty confident that something will turn up shortly. However, I'm enjoying how clean our house has been since he's undertaken the task of being a homemaker. I've actually become a little bit cleaner as to not undo all his hard work. In addition to his mad cleaning skills, he's also developing a greater understanding of the law thanks to Judge Joe Brown and Judge Judy.

Now, if I may, direct your attention to the quiz at the side bar. Tuesday is our big ultrasound! We are excited that we will be able to use gender-specific pronouns for "Baby F" (f= fetus). So please vote away and I'll update next week with the big news!!
